Valley Mills has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will face off against the Rio Vista Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Valley Mills is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Dawson two weeks ago (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Valley Mills lost 30-8 to Dawson. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Rio Vista entered their tilt with Dawson on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 46-22 margin over the Bulldogs. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Rio Vista found their leader in sophomore Kaiden Scott, who threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown. Those four passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Scott. A healthy portion of Scott's aerial production (146 yards to be exact) went to Ashton Huey, who also brought in three receiving touchdowns.

Rio Vista wouldn't let Dawson keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Rio Vista can thank Gavin Lesley and Ryan Battles for forcing both of them.

Valley Mills has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Rio Vista, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4.
