Volleyball Recap: Tolman Extends Home Winning Streak to 16

Tolman faced Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 3-0 victory. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Tolman was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-8, 25-11.

Hayson Ortiz paced Tolman's offense, picking up 11 kills. Ortiz got some help from Jean-Lucas Barroso and his 25 assists. Finally, Ortiz was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

Tolman pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-5 record.

Looking ahead, Tolman is taking a road trip to take on Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central, they will welcome Classical at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
