Soccer Recap: Santa Fe Comes Up Short

Santa Fe lost against Columbia back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Santa Fe Raiders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbia Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Tigers are ranked 122nd).

Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Columbia, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe will head out to challenge Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Santa Fe's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Columbia, they will venture away from home to square off against Wakulla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
