Weekend stars include Georgia senior with 61 carries and three receptions in shootout win.

This past weekend of high school football saw no shortage of insane statistical performances. We are highlighting some of those in the latest edition of Stat Freaks of the Week.

Quarterback Vinny Ballone of Lowellville (Ohio) tops the list after he tied the state record by throwing nine touchdown passes Friday in a 62-20 win over Jackson-Milton.

The 6-foot-5 senior gunslinger hit five different receivers for scores and now has 30 touchdowns this season for the 5-0 Rockets.

"It's very cool being able to throw the ball to my friends that I grew up with," Ballone said. "My offensive line gave me plenty of time to be able to make my reads and throw the ball effectively to the open receivers. I am very proud of my entire team and coaching staff for what we accomplished this week."

Ballone hasn't thrown an interception all season but has picked off two passes playing safety for Lowellville, including one Friday.

Ethen Knox of Oil City (Pa.) is another Stat Freak who rushed for 424 yards and five touchdowns Friday. The junior averaged 15 yards per carry. Through four games, Knox has a total of 1,575 rushing yards with 21 TD runs.

Knox also intercepted a pass on Friday to put his total to three on the season.
