Recap: San Perlita Trojans vs. Economedes Jaguars

The San Perlita Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to Economedes. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points San Perlita has scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Economedes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathaniel De La Garza, who scored 17 points along with three steals. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which De La Garza has scored at least 25% of Economedes' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Carreon, who scored six points along with five steals.

San Perlita has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Economedes, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

San Perlita will head out on the road to face off against Non Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Economedes, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Los Fresnos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Los Fresnos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
