Football Game Preview: Denair Coyotes vs. Waterford Wildcats + How To Watch

The Denair Coyotes will take on the Waterford Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Denair will be strutting in after a victory while Waterford will be coming in after a defeat.

Denair's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Delhi, posting a 41-0 win. The Coyotes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Bryson Salazar and Degan Butler. Salazar gained 158 total yards and three touchdowns while Butler rushed for 146 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries. Salazar is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Noah Chavez was another key player, rushing for 71 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Denair was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 331 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Waterford was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 19-14 to Mariposa County.

Denair's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Waterford, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Denair has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 325.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Waterford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 204.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
