Soccer Game Preview: Ola vs. Jones County

The Ola Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Jones County Greyhounds at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Ola's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Hampton with a sharp 9-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Ola in their matchups with Hampton: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Jones County entered their tilt with McDonough on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Warhawks. Given Jones County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while McDonough are ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ola pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for Jones County, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Everything went Ola's way against Jones County in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Ola made off with a 3-0 victory. Does Ola have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jones County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
