Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Crete

While Crete's victory against York wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Dukes on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Cardinals as they're now sitting on three straight.

Nick Wendt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. Crete is 2-1 when Wendt posts ten or more strikeouts, but 8-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Crete's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ike Svitak, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Crete's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for York, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-6 record.
