            Softball Recap: Tennyson Lancers vs. Piedmont Highlanders        
        
		
        
        
            Tennyson had lost three straight on the road, but  on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it four. They came up short against  the Piedmont Highlanders, falling  22-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Highlanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  16-1  back in April.
As for Piedmont,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 13-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
For Piedmont's part,  Miya Fujimoto was a  major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Fujimoto has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  Eunice Kouadio was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. Those  three  hits gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Hannah Joerger, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double.
As of now, neither Tennyson nor Piedmont have any future games scheduled.
