Basketball Recap: Central Christian Takes a Loss

Central Christian won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Konos Academy Condor and fell 64-32. The Crusaders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-14.

Central Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lukas Crane, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points. Avery Steidinger was another key player, putting up 12 points and six rebounds.

Joshua Knapp continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Konos Academy, going 9 of 17 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Knapp is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Caleb Knapp was another key player, posting ten points and three steals.

Central Christian's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-6. As for Konos Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Central Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-49 loss against Skipstone Academy on the 12th. As for Konos Academy, they will welcome Trinity Christian School of Griffin at 8:00 p.m. on December 17th. Konos Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season.
