Basketball Recap: Mcclatchy Skates Past Cordova with Ease

McClatchy lost to Cordova back in December of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The McClatchy Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cordova Lancers 63-36. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 27 points or more this season.

McClatchy was led to victory by Kai Bradford and Nehemiah Miller. Bradford went 9 of 19 en route to 26 points along with five assists and three steals, while Miller went 7 of 14 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Bradford's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Eugene Castillo, who posted 12 points.

McClatchy has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points per game. As for Cordova, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the McClatchy Lions take on the West Park Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cordova, they will take on Antelope at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Antelope is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.4 points per game this season.
