League recap: Poly Prep Country Day tops Valley Forge Military to extend winning streak

Poly Prep Country Day extended the longest winning streak in Freelance this week by beating Valley Forge Military, 49-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.

Fieldston moved up to 54 from 401 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Eagles were able to move up by falling to Riverdale Country 13-7.

Pennington's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Greg Oldsey threw for 178 and 1 touchdown and Moses Vigo had 84 yards receiving. On the ground Jalen Daniels contributed 159 yards. Morris Marcellus helped Pennington's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 62 yards.

Benjamin Williams made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Red Raiders lost to Academy of the New Church. The 6-foot-0 junior recorded 1 fumble and racked up 1 sack.

Daniels was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 159 yards on 18 carries as Pennington lost to the Lions. Cameron Warner also contributed to the rushing game with 21 yards on the ground.

Pennington's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Red Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Oldsey has thrown for 806 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Vigo has 27 catches for 403 yards.

Poly Prep Country Day led Freelance in scoring this week by notching 49 points on the Trojans.
