Soccer Recap: Calamus-Wheatland Comes Up Short

If Calamus-Wheatland was riding high fresh off their 4-0 takedown of Western Dubuque last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 6-2 to the Independence Mustangs on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Calamus-Wheatland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Independence are ranked 32nd).

Calamus-Wheatland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Independence, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-2-1.

Calamus-Wheatland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Independence, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 win against North Scott on the 30th.
