Volleyball Game Preview: Lincoln Lutheran Warriors vs. Syracuse Rockets

The Lincoln Lutheran Warriors will challenge the Syracuse Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln Lutheran will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Lincoln Lutheran was able to grind out a solid victory over Clarkson/Leigh, taking the game 3-1.

Lincoln Lutheran had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-11, 25-13, 25-21.

Lincoln Lutheran's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jadyn Keenan, who had ten digs and three assists, and Lily Wohlgemuth, who had 21 digs and seven kills. Those 21 digs gave Wohlgemuth a new career-high. Haylee Wiig also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Syracuse's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lourdes Central Catholic.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Lourdes Central Catholic scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18.

Syracuse's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Lincoln Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.

Lincoln Lutheran took their victory against Syracuse when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rockets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
