Softball Game Preview: Donna North Chiefs vs. Pace Vikings

Donna North hasn't had much luck against Pace recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Donna North Chiefs are taking a road trip to square off against the Pace Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Donna North has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Donna North is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Rivera, falling 12-0.

Meanwhile, Pace entered their tilt with Porter on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cowboys 3-1. The game was the first time the Vikings have beaten the Cowboys on their field since April 13, 2021.

Luna Juarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pace's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Valeria Alvarado, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Donna North's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Pace, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Donna North might still be hurting after the 19-8 loss they got from Pace in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Donna North avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
