Volleyball Recap: Elk Mound Comes Up Short

Elk Mound lost against McDonell Central on September 13th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mounders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Macks. The Mounders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-12, 23-25, 25-16.

Lauren Gabert paced Elk Mound's offense, picking up ten kills. Gabert got some help from Taylor Frinack and her 27 assists. Finally, Jacey Raven kept Elk Mound's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Leading McDonell Central to victory were Kherington Mosack and Chloe Flanagan. Mosack had 15 digs and two assists, while Flanagan had four digs and four aces. Those 15 digs gave Mosack a new career-high.

Elk Mound's loss dropped their record down to 14-16. As for McDonell Central, the victory was the 23rd in a row for them, bringing their record up to 27-2.

Elk Mound didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Bloomer on the 2nd. As for McDonell Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Cadott on the 2nd.
