Volleyball Recap: Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs vs. Blair-Taylor Wildcats
Melrose-Mindoro lost against Blair-Taylor back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered against the Wildcats since September 23, 2021.
The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-16, 25-16.
Bella Rozek paced Melrose-Mindoro's offense, picking up seven kills. Rozek got some help from Opal Buchanan and her eight assists. Rozek was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Elissa Smetana was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 assists and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last nine matchups. Eva Nyen also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
