Basketball Recap: Palm Bay Falls Despite Big Games from Elijah Buffong and Deuel ?Junior? Fider

On Thursday, the Palm Bay Pirates came up short against the Hagerty Huskies and fell 65-54. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palm Bay's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Deuel ?Junior? Fider, who posted 14 points, and Elijah Buffong, who had 14 points. Ryann Brown was another key player, putting up eight points.

It was another big night for Asa Kohn, who went 12-for-16 to rack up 28 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists for Hagerty. The match was Kohn's ninth in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Lopez, who went 7-for-10 en route to 17 points and eight boards.

Palm Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Hagerty, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-10.

Palm Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-64 victory against Merritt Island on the 3rd. As for Hagerty, they have also already played their next contest, a 55-38 win against Mount Dora on the 31st.
