Samfree Sarante and Santiago Henriquez secure win for Palmetto

Recap: Palmetto Panthers vs. Hialeah Thoroughbreds

In what's become a running theme this season, the Palmetto Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Hialeah with a sharp 93-70 win. Given Palmetto's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Hialeah is ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Palmetto to victory were Samfree Sarante and Santiago Henriquez. Sarante went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 1 assist, while Henriquez dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 assists. Henriquez has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Joshua Lipson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists.

Palmetto is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Hialeah, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Palmetto will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Dr. Krop at 7:30 p.m. As for Hialeah, they will head out on the road to square off against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
