Softball Recap: Rancho Bernardo's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Rancho Bernardo dropped their record down to 13-14-1 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Eastlake Titans, falling 9-0. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

As for Eastlake, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-11-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games.

For Eastlake's part, the result came thanks to Addison Suriano's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks. Suriano has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bryn Grayson and Mia Vasquez did most of the damage at the plate: Grayson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Vasquez went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Those three RBI gave Grayson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Deziree Gomez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As of now, neither Rancho Bernardo nor Eastlake have any future games scheduled.
