Two dominant signal callers in Jace Gill and Holt Frazier are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Graham Steers will face off against the Brock Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Graham sitting on four straight wins and Brock on eight.
Graham's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over Mineral Wells. The Steers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 20 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Brock took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 66-7 win over Burkburnett. The Eagles are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth matchup they've won by 20+ points this season.
Graham better keep an eye on Bryer Mcdonald. He was instrumental in Brock's win, rushing for 143 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Mcdonald has posted since back in November of 2024. Colt Matlock also helped out with an impressive 107 receiving yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Brock proved: they limited Burkburnett to a paltry 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Karsen Sullivan for the heroic effort on defense: he. Brock didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.1.
Brock's defense didn't let Brody Boyd, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Caleb Holt, Slade Mathis, and Brett Cannon, who each picked up one sack apiece. Brock got some further help from Holt: he picked up a sack and made six total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Graham's record is now 6-2. As for Brock, their record now sits at 8-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Graham has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 216.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Brock struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 242 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Graham couldn't quite finish off Brock in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 12-10. Can the Steers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
