Softball Recap: Puyallup Wins Going Away Against Curtis

After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Puyallup brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They blew past Curtis 18-2 on Wednesday. Considering Puyallup has won five games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ella Williams made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Amori Hargrove was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Kayla Ringenbach was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The victory snapped Puyallup's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-6 record. As for Curtis, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Puyallup will challenge South Kitsap at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Curtis, they will take on Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
