Soccer Game Preview: St. Patrick vs. Pass Christian

The St. Patrick Fighting Irish will square off against the Pass Christian Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Patrick is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: Bay, who was ranked 16th at the time (St. Patrick was ranked 14th). St. Patrick put the hurt on Bay with a sharp 5-1 victory on Friday. The Fighting Irish's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

They hit Bay with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sam Mcclain (2), Payton Taylor, Luke Shaw, and Michael Baty.

Meanwhile, Pass Christian waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Red Rebels onto the board and left with a 7-0 win.

Pass Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those seven contests. As for St. Patrick, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3-1.

St. Patrick was able to grind out a solid win over Pass Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 2-0. Does St. Patrick have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pass Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
