Southern Wake Academy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 70-56 victory over the Washington County Panthers on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on 15 straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern Wake Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ira Wilson, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten assists. Wilson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games he's played. Kobe Plata was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 13 points and six assists.
Southern Wake Academy pushed their record up to 29-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.7 points. As for Washington County, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-4.
Southern Wake Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-55 loss against Corvian Community on the 14th. Washington County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
