Baseball Recap: Central Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

While Central didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Grandview Bulldogs 10-0 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cole Hass tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Central got a massive performance out of Matthew Massey, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Massey, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grandview only posted a batting average of .125.

Central's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-4. As for Grandview, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will face off against Ruskin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians are facing the Golden Eagles at the right time seeing as the Golden Eagles are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Grandview, they will take on Guadalupe Centers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Aztecs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.75 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
