Basketball Recap: Pettus Victorious

Pettus hadn't done well against Refugio recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Pettus Eagles walked away with a 51-41 victory over the Refugio Bobcats. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in December of 2024, they had to take a 58-37 loss.

The win made it two in a row for Pettus and bumps their season record up to 6-17. As for Refugio, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pettus will square off against Woodsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pettus is facing Woodsboro at the right time seeing as Woodsboro is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Refugio, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Refugio Bobcats challenge the Yorktown Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
