Softball Recap: Blacksburg Takes a Loss

Blacksburg came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Landrum Cardinals, falling 12-5. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 5-1.

Blacksburg's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Landrum, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Blacksburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Landrum, they are taking a road trip to square off against Travelers Rest at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals are facing the Devildogs at the right time seeing as the Devildogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
