Softball Recap: Leavenworth PIONEERS vs. Seaman Vikings

Leavenworth extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-6 in the process. They came up short against the Seaman Vikings, falling 19-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 on Tuesday.

As for Seaman, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-3. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Seaman's part, Kynnedi Kitzman spent all three innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Kitzman.

On the hitting side, Kayleigh Neil was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Phelps, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
