Recap: Caston Comets vs. Bremen Lions

The Caston Comets have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 38-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bremen. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Caston came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while Bremen is ranked 204th).

Several Comets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madisyn Douglass, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Isabel Scales was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Bremen got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eliana Grubbs out in front who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Grubbs hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kila Foster, who scored 18 points along with two blocks.

Caston has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-3 record this season. As for Bremen, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-11.

Caston will square off against West Central at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bremen, they will take on Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Glenn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Wednesday.
