Basketball Recap: Soldotna Takes a Loss

Soldotna was the 43-27 winner over Mountain City Christian Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Soldotna Stars took a 52-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain City Christian Academy Lions on Friday. The Stars just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Jaidhen Oyao continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mountain City Christian Academy, going 10 for 15 en route to 23 points and five assists. With that strong performance, Oyao is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. Darian Igwacho was another key player, putting up ten points and six steals.

Soldotna suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 6-6. As for Mountain City Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mountain City Christian Academy beat Soldotna by a score of 73-40 on Saturday.
