Volleyball Game Preview: Heritage Patriots vs. Irvington Vikings

The Heritage Patriots will challenge the Irvington Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Heritage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Campolindo.

Heritage had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-14, 25-23.

College Prep typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Irvington proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a set and slipped past the Cougars 3-2.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (122-120) Irvington actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 19-25, 26-28, 25-23.

Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Irvington, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-12.

Heritage took their win against Irvington in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
