Basketball Recap: Carney-Nadeau Takes a Loss

Carney-Nadeau lost against North Dickinson back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Carney-Nadeau Wolves took a blow against the North Dickinson Nordics, falling 87-36. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while the Nordics are ranked 242nd).

Carney-Nadeau has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for North Dickinson, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carney-Nadeau will face off against Lena at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Carney-Nadeau is facing Lena at the right time seeing as Lena is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for North Dickinson, they will venture away from home to face off against Rapid River at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. North Dickinson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Rapid River likes a good challenge.
