Softball Recap: Rush City Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rush City can now relate to. They fell just short of the Esko Eskomos by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for the Tigers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Kendal Pillar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

Rush City's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-6. As for Esko, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Esko beat Rush City by a score of 3-0 later that day.
