Football Recap: Choctaw Central Comes Up Short

Choctaw Central was the 27-16 winner over Leake Central when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors had to suffer through a 60-27 loss at the hands of the Gators. The loss was the Warriors' first of the season.

Tyris Stokes threw for 75 yards on six of 14 attempts.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Leake Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Javario Daley, who rushed for 163 yards and three scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Daley is now averaging an impressive 101 rushing yards per game. Israel Ross was in the mix as well, providing Leake Central with three TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Choctaw Central fell to 5-1. As for Leake Central, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Choctaw Central will face off against Northeast Lauderdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Leake Central, they will challenge Scott Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
