Volleyball Recap: Bridgeport Comes Up Short

Bridgeport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Valentine. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Valentine earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Kendal Deaver paced Bridgeport's offense, picking up nine kills. Deaver got some help from Avery Schneider and her 25 assists. Schneider was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Bridgeport's defeat dropped their record down to 11-19. As for Valentine, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Bridgeport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Kimball on the 18th. As for Valentine, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Mitchell on the 18th.
