Valley Springs hadn't done well against West Fork recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Valley Springs' pitcher stepped up to hand West Fork a 4-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for Valley Springs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Sawyer Hartman's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Valley Springs saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zayd Yount, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Camden Fredlund also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Valley Springs and bumps their season record up to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for West Fork, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coincidentally, Valley Springs and West Fork will both be playing Green Forest the next time they take the field. Valley Springs will head out to face Green Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while West Fork will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
