Baseball Recap: Davidson Academy's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Davidson Academy dropped their record down to 23-10 on Sunday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Columbia Academy Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Bears haven't been shut out since back in March.

As for Columbia Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games.

For Columbia Academy's part, not much got past Gunner Skelton, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Davidson Academy off the board. Skelton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Columbia Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jase Kincaid, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

As of now, neither Davidson Academy nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
