Soccer Game Preview: Caney Creek vs. Grand Oaks

The Caney Creek Panthers will take on the Grand Oaks Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Caney Creek's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 12 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Caney Creek fell victim to Oak Ridge and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the War Eagles, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the War Eagles are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grand Oaks, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Willis a 1-0 shutout on Friday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Wildkats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Grand Oaks' one-goal win came courtesy of Kailey Aguirre, who's now up to three this season.

Grand Oaks' win bumped their record up to 11-7-2. As for Caney Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16-3.
