Volleyball Recap: Riley Jackson Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

The Sandhills Classical Christian Lions made easy work of the Fayetteville HomeSchool Crusaders on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Sandhills Classical Christian was: they took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-8, 25-9.

Sandhills Classical Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Jackson, who had six aces and three digs. Those six aces gave Jackson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jersi Olsen, who had seven kills, two aces, and one block.

They weren't the only good servers: Sandhills Classical Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in eight consecutive matches.

Sandhills Classical Christian's record now sits at 10-7. As for Fayetteville HomeSchool, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sandhills Classical Christian will take on rival Sandhills Homeschool at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Fayetteville HomeSchool is set to face off against their familiar foe Father Capodanno at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
