Softball Game Preview: San Pasqual Golden Eagles vs. Grossmont Foothillers

The San Pasqual Golden Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Grossmont Foothillers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

San Pasqual's last matchup with Mission Hills could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Golden Eagles lost 14-2 to the Grizzlies. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

San Pasqual saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally McKinley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Grossmont came up short against Helix on Wednesday, falling 15-3.

San Pasqual's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Grossmont, they dropped their record down to 7-15-1 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

San Pasqual was able to grind out a solid win over Grossmont in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
