After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Greenbrier, Evans was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lakeside Panthers 9-7. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Brittney Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks.
