Baseball Recap: Garrett Comes Up Short

Garrett was the 16-7 winner over Central Noble when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Railroaders fell 7-4 to the Cougars on Friday. Railroaders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cougars since on Friday.

Keagan Jobe was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jobe was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season.

Jobe wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Gonya, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That run was Gonya's first of the season.

Garrett has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Central Noble, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.

Garrett wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-3 loss against Leo on the 10th. As for Central Noble, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-2 defeat against East Noble on the 10th.
