Volleyball Recap: Commerce Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Commerce lost against Oglethorpe County back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers fell 2-0 to the Patriots.

While Commerce was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23.

Lily Mullis paced Commerce's offense, picking up four kills. Mullis got some help from Maribeth Hill and her three assists.

Carlie Gabriel was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had three digs and two aces. What's more, she racked up ten assists, the most she's had since back in September of 2024.

Commerce has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. As for Oglethorpe County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-8.

Coincidentally, Commerce and Oglethorpe County will both be playing Social Circle the next time they take the court. The Patriots will head out to face the Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
