Softball Recap: Ysleta Comes Up Short

Ysleta came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Hanks Knights, falling 12-1. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ysleta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cienna Hernandez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Ysleta has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season. The win (which was Hanks' third in a row) raised their record to 11-4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ysleta will head out to face off against Mayfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hanks, they will venture away from home to challenge Montwood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Montwood will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Hanks surely won't give up without a fight.
