Basketball Recap: Wilber-Clatonia Comes Up Short

Wilber-Clatonia lost against Sandy Creek back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolverines had to suffer through a 62-27 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The Wolverines were down 43-22 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Sandy Creek found their leader in sophomore Kamerin Sealey, who shot 62% from the field en route to 22 points. With that strong performance, Sealey is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Kaeden Schmidt also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Wilber-Clatonia now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Sandy Creek, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilber-Clatonia and Fillmore Central will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Sandy Creek, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Exeter-Milligan/Friend at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars' defense better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 57.6 points per game this season.
