Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hillsboro). They never let the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Burros, who have now won seven matches in a row.

Michael Gooch, Jr was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Andrew Hull also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Hillsboro's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pearl-Cohn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Hillsboro will head out to square off against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pearl-Cohn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Maplewood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.83 runs per game on average), something the Firebirds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
