It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but University had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 65-54 win over the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Despite the loss, Buckhannon-Upshur still got an impressive performance from Jerin Westfall, who shot 64% from the field en route to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Westfall's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Robinette, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 16 points.
University's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-10 record.
