Basketball Game Preview: Highland Rams vs. Eastern Montgomery Mustangs

Highland hasn't had much luck against Eastern Montgomery recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Highland has given up an average of 52 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Wednesday, Highland had to suffer through a 79-25 loss at the hands of Narrows. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 408th, while the Green Waves are ranked 122nd).

Meanwhile, Eastern Montgomery was able to grind out a solid win over Craig County on Wednesday, taking the game 46-39. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won four in a row.

Eastern Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Highland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Things could have been worse for Highland, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-31 loss to Eastern Montgomery in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
