Basketball Recap: Rockland Beats Mackay for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Rockland waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 45-38 victory over the Mackay Miners. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-31 back in December of 2024.

Leading Rockland to victory were Calyn Permann and Sidney Freeman. Permann dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards, while Freeman went 5-for-9 on her way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Permann a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Trin Wiese, who posted six points.

Rockland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.

Rockland's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Mackay, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.

As of now, neither Rockland nor Mackay have any future games scheduled.
