Recap: Roxboro Community Bulldogs vs. Oxford Prep Griffins
The Roxboro Community Bulldogs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against Oxford Prep by a score of 39-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Roxboro Community also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Roxboro Community's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katherine-kaey "katie" Mann, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Mann has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Karrie Obie, who scored eight points along with 18 rebounds and two steals.
Roxboro Community is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Oxford Prep, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Vance Charter the next time they take the court. Roxboro Community will head out to face Vance Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Oxford Prep will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
